Useful Exercises for your Neck to avoid Cervical Pain

In general, Neck pain is caused by injuries and sprains associated with the muscles tendons, and ligaments around the cervical spine, but it also caused by a cervical herniated disc or cervical stenosis. If you are also facing Cervical Pain, there are some exercises you can do to keep yourself away from Cervical Pain.

1. Posterio-Lateral Pilates Breathing Technique

You can make use of the Pilates style of posterior-lateral breathing to lift the head up off the neck and lengthen the spine. You need to place special Emphasis on inhaling to fill the back of the ribcage from the bottom to the top.  When you fill the lungs with air, you increased the natural curves of the spine. This helps your head to float the head up off the neck.

2. Keep the front of the Neck and Throat relaxed on your gulp

You need to lift the head up off the neck and lengthen the spine and place a lot of Emphasis on inhaling to fill the back of the ribcage from the bottom to the top. This helps you float the head up off the neck and keep your neck free from Cervical Pain.

3. Tongue Placement

Place your tongue in your mouth and touch the tip of the tongue to the roof of your mouth on your inhale and drop the tongue away from the roof of your mouth on your exhale little by little.  This helps you in proper use of the diaphragm and when the muscles in the front of the neck soften, it gives you a lot of relief.

4. Pelvic Floor

When you make use of pelvic floor, it offers you the base of the spine which is mandatory for lift and lengthening that takes place during breathing. It is almost impossible to to get the ribs to lift away from the pelvis, the neck to lift away from the torso, and the head to lift away from the neck devoid of an active, busy pelvic floor.

5. Shoulder Depression

Sometimes it happens that your shoulders are wrapped around your ears and there is height chance that head and neck are jammed in too close to your torso. So, just, pull the shoulders down and you should feel your head shoot up another inch because it also helps you keep your neck away from Cervical Pain.
