Home Remedies to Banish Blackheads and Whiteheads

Blackheads and whiteheads are annoying skin problems that happen when a pore gets blocked with oil and dead skin cells in it. The difference between both of them is that in case of blackheads, the pores are stretched open while with whiteheads, the pores remain closed.

How to remove blackheads?

People of any age can succumb to the problem of blackheads on their skin. Blackheads, also known as open comedones, are small black or yellow bumps that occur when a clog evolves in the opening of hair follicles because of the accumulation of excess dirt, dead skin cells and oil. Blackheads commonly emerge on the face, precisely on nose. If you’re wondering about how to get rid of blackheads, home remedies are what you should resort to.

# Baking Soda

Mix two tablespoons of baking soda with water and make a thin paste. Apply this paste on the affected area and gently massage. Let it dry before rinsing with warm water.

# Turmeric

Take some turmeric powder and mix with two tablespoons of mint juice. Apply on the skin prone to blackheads. Allow it to dry. Afterwards wash off with lukewarm water.

How to treat whiteheads?

People with overactive sebaceous glands or excess sebum production tend to succumb more to the whiteheads. Whiteheads, also known as closed comedones, are quite similar to blackheads. They are small bumps which are yellow or white in color as they form beneath the surface of closed pores. Whiteheads are kind of acne caused by trapped sebum, dirt and dead skin in the clogged pores of skin. Given below are few home remedies to cure whiteheads.
